About Dr. DeMatteo:

Dr. DeMatteo was born and raised in the hilly, bustling Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience at Muhlenberg College. He then went on to complete his medical education at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His hobbies include playing piano, acting, playing tennis, traveling, discovering new coffee shops and restaurants, spending time at the beach, and building Lego sets. 

Future Interests: Addiction Medicine, Forensic Psychiatry, Interventional Psychiatry 

Why I chose Broward Health Psychiatry:

I chose Broward Health Psychiatry after completing a sub-internship with the department. While on rotation here, I spent a month working closely with the residents and faculty, seeing the collaborative nature of the program, and being exposed to a diverse population and psychopathologies. The autonomy afforded the residents in this program also stood out for me. I felt this program would help best solidify my learning by challenging myself more and more each day, while having plentiful support and guidance from faculty, staff, and fellow residents.
