Personal Statement Or Description:
Dr. Banoub earned his medical degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit and studied Food, Agriculture, Biological Engineering at Ohio State. He balances analytical thinking with creativity cultivated through piano instruction and is naturally attracted to innovative concepts at the intersection of medicine and technology. In pursuit of academic surgical training, he completed a research fellowship in surgical innovation at Thomas Jefferson University. He derives deep professional fulfillment from surgery, where dexterity, technique, and problem-solving heal diseases and improve patients' lives. He hence opted for Surgical internship at Hofstra/Northwell-Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York. He is excited to receive state-of-the-art Ophthalmology training in South Florida and care for diverse patients with complex eye diseases. He conducts research in collaboration with Florida Atlantic University Computer Engineering: creating software workflows and building medical devices that solve clinical problems and help patients in Ophthalmology. After years of freezing winters with tropical escapes, he loves skiing and scuba diving. However, what he enjoys most is spending time with his co-residents: playing golf and tennis, bowling, trying new cuisines, and attending trivia night. He intends to pursue sub-specialty fellowship training and an academic surgical Ophthalmology practice.
