About Dr. Shekar.

Dr. Shekar was born and raised in Manhattan, Kansas. He attended Kansas State University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. His passion for being involved in healthcare area led him to volunteer as a certified nurse’s aide. He was fortunate to continue his interest and attend Trinity School of Medicine in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. He also had the opportunity do his clinical rotations in Baltimore, MD. Dr Shekar feels very fortunate to do his training in Florida. And has fallen in love with this great state. He is very much interested in pursuing a career in inpatient psychiatry.   He likes to spend his free time working out, especially running. He also likes hanging out with his co-residents and   watching football, college, and pro. 

Future interests Inpatient Psychiatry

Dr. Shekar chose Broward Health Imperial Point psychiatry residency because of the varied Pathology.  The opportunities for psychotherapy.   And the opportunity to serve the citizens of Broward County.
