Personal Statement Or Description:
About Dr. Putnick:
Dr. Putnick grew up in upstate New York with 3 sisters and one brother, going on to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology, Health, and Society from the College of Human Ecology at Cornell University. After graduating, she went on to Albany Medical College to obtain her MD. She had preliminary surgery residency training in Boston and New York City before coming to Broward to finish residency.
Why I chose Broward Health General Surgery:
I was thrilled to get an offer for a position in Broward General Surgery because I enjoyed the opportunity to be part of the development and growth of a new program in a well-established institution with the potential to train in virtually all fields of general surgery. Broward also offers training within four main hospitals, giving the residents variety in hospital systems while under one umbrella as well as working with an array of general and subspecialists that are engaged in resident education in both didactics and the "unwritten" curriculum of professional development. The graduated autonomy afforded to the residents is also unmatched, as we have been treated as junior colleagues with one- on- one communication with attendings and co-residents starting with our first year
