Derek was born and raised in Jensen Beach, Florida. He graduated from University of Central Florida and completed medical school at Nova Southeastern University. He hopes to pursue a career in hand or reconstructive surgery. Outside of medicine, Derek enjoys exercising, traveling, and spending time with his fiancé, Savannah.
