About Dr. Dewan: Dr. Dewan was born and raised in Newark, Delaware before moving to Germantown, Maryland. He attended the Science Mathematics Computer Science Magnet Program at Poolesville High School. He completed his undergraduate studies in three years at the University of Maryland with a Bachelor’s in Biological Sciences and a minor in Sustainability. He then spent a year conducting research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Dr. Dewan obtained his medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences. He enjoys the broad scope and continuity of care associated with Family Medicine and his areas of interest include pediatrics, sleep medicine, and preventive medicine. His hobbies include cooking, exercising, reading, and tutoring.
Why I Chose Broward Health Family Medicine: I chose the BHFM residency program for the opportunity to work in a large, community-based hospital setting with exposure to a diverse patient population. I also appreciated the opportunity to work closely with attendings, residents, health care providers, and students in teams.
