About you:

Dr. Horton was raised in Edmond, Oklahoma. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and biology and minored in music at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas where she competed for the women’s NCAA division II swimming and cross-country teams and performed as first clarinetist in various ensembles. She received her MD degree at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, and her interests include HPB, surgical oncology, and general surgery. Dr. Horton enjoys spending her free time with her husband, Tim, snorkeling, paddle boarding, and triathlons.

Why did I choose Broward Health?

I joined Broward Health because it offers me the opportunity to observe a wide variety of pathologies, rotate at multiple community hospitals, and be a part of a new and growing training program. I enjoyed my experience throughout the interview process and learned that the program leaders are very invested in resident education and research, which will prepare me well for fellowship and practice upon graduation.
