Personal Statement Or Description:
My name is Marylou Nicolazzo I am a fourth year at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy projected to graduate with honors in May 2020. I was born in Massachusetts, but relocated to central North Carolina in the early 2000s and have been living in Asheville for the past four years. I completed my undergraduate degree in Biology at East Carolina University in 2016. During pharmacy school, I have held numerous teaching assistant positions and have worked part-time as a student intern at a local community hospital. I was also the primary investigator on a longitudinal research project that generated an MRSA nasal colonization predictive model. I greatly enjoy precepting and my professional interests include infectious disease and pharmacy informatics. In my spare time I like to make art, primarily clay or mixed media pieces. Most recently I made a series of magnets based on pet portraits as a fundraiser for UNC pharmacy school student organizations. I'm looking forward to the warm Florida weather and challenging myself to reach new heights as a PGY1 Pharmacy Resident at Broward Medical Center!
